Research projects

Ever since its establishment, the Institute members have been carrying out a number of basic and target research projects financed by the Slovenian Research Agency. These projects help us reach our research goals in the field of entrepreneurship.

Research projects ( are of three types: basic projects covering experimental or theoretical work undertaken primarily to acquire new knowledge, without any particular application or use in view; applied projects as original investigation undertaken in order to acquire new knowledge. It is however, directed towards a specific practical aim or objective; and post-doctoral projects.

The most characteristic projects are the following:

Basic research projects:
J5-6541 From a institutional transition to a real one into an innovative enterprise (2004 – 2006)
          J5-3299 Slovenian Entrepreneurship Monitor (2001 – 2004)
          J5-8979 Social values and postmodern age (1997 – 1999)

Target research programs (CRP)  ( was established in 2001 for inter-sectorial cooperation in planning and implementing networked R&D projects for specific areas of public interest. Research within a CRP is problem-oriented and targeted towards improving Slovenia's competitive capacity, which should form the basis for successful development and an increase in the standard of living of its inhabitants. It takes into account the basic guidelines from the Slovenian Economic Development Strategy on the sustainable development of Slovenia and the interconnection and dependence of economic, social and environmental dimensions of development.
